Women

"I see women as the stronghold of humanity. They are the pioneers and keepers of life," says Hardi during one of his interview with Jakarta Post. And we can see this through his body of work, where all the beautiful women are painted across the canvas. Whether in nudes, or traditional cloths, he captured the essence and the spirit of womenhood.

During his earlier works, he is famous for his Balinese dancers series. The influence of his first journey as a painter in Ubud, Bali, surely leaves a mark. Ever since, he not only uses them as object in the paintings, but also uses women as a symbol of strength, hope and love.
