Early Works
Early on in his career, Hardi quickly gain a reputation as a controversial artist. He made his artwork a statement - a medium to share his piece of mind. It was rarely gray when it comes to Hardi.
He started painting in 1964, and he hasn't stopped since. He paints about poverty, the corrupt and the unjust. He criticize society, politics, norms - and pay the price. He got expelled as a student, he was arrested by the government and made a pariah by the art community who feared, rather than embrace him.
Ever since his return from Holland, he became more and more restless. But in terms of art, his world expanded. He played with different type of medium, starting from posters, postcards, photographs to installation to send his message to the world. And that message is: Hardi is not to be messed around with.
